After this week I can no longer claim never to have read or written a blog…

Today we are working on completely different music which uses microtones and very slow gradual slides.

Scott, the composer is looking to exploit the ‘beats’ that happen for example when unison notes slowly diverge in pitch. There are a few moments when we land on a recognizable chord or unison and these have tremendous impact.

As has happened during the last couple of days, listening back to what Alex has recorded while having breaks (he of course is busy editing the recordings) helps us understand and make sense of what we have just played…
