Martyn Bennett wrote and performed music for the original production of David Harrower's play, Knives in Hens, in 1995. Later Robert McFall arranged some numbers of this incidental music, which were in included on the album, "Birds and Beasts". Now, for the first time, those arrangements are being used in a production of the play. The semi-staged reading of Knives in Hens is a fundraising event commemorating the life of Pauline Knowles, who played the part of the Young Woman in the original production. All proceeds go to the Pauline Knowles Scholarship Fund at the Royal Conservatoire of Music in Glasgow.
