Having toasted our 20th anniversary in 2015, classical/crossover trailblazers Mr McFall’s Chamber revisit one of our signature proclivities, the sounds of tango – particularly those penned by seminal Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla – in company with two like-minded artists from that intensely sultry, libidinous music’s homeland.
Buenos Aires-based Tanino Dúo are Fernando Sanchez and Santiago Alvarez, who will perform their own set before soloing in the programme’s centrepiece, Piazzolla’s double concerto Hommage à Liège, on Spanish guitar and - in place of the original’s bandonéon - chromatic harmonica. Another international tango specialist, French violinist Cyril Garac, joins core band members Robert McFall, Su-a Lee, Brian Schiele and Rick Standley.
Please note: This concert takes place in the Strathclyde Suite of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
